Several months ago, we wrote about Notcoin being the biggest crypto phenomenon of 2024. Yes, Ethereum minority clients had just had their outages in January, and yes one of the biggest Ethereum hard forks took place in March, but for the average crypto person, Notcoin was bigger than these combined.
As we presciently warned, Notcoin was living in a moment of hype and is still relatively popular, but after listing and actually making small fortunes for its early tappers, it has now floundered from a high of 2.9 US cents in April 2024 to about 16 cents as of mid-June 2024.
All the same, Notcoin’s network growth and new hordes of minor wealthy coiners has led to a slew of copycats doing what some are now dubbing “Telegram coin farming”.

VisitTelegram coin harvesting began as an offshoot of traditional crypto bounty programs and airdrops. Early adopters recognised the potential of Telegram's widespread usage and its active communities to facilitate the distribution of cryptocurrencies.
In other words, everyone saw what happened with Notcoin and decided to replicate the process. Just as CryptoKitties spawned a thousand replicas in 2016, Notcoin now has the dubious reputation of launching the next hype wave in crypto.
Initially, like Notcoin, these programs were simple and straightforward, offering tokens in exchange for joining groups, referring friends, or promoting projects on social media.
The first wave of Telegram-based bounty programs capitalised on the platform's ability to reach a large audience quickly. Telegram's secure, anonymous, and user-friendly interface made it an ideal medium for crypto projects to engage with their communities and distribute tokens efficiently.
In Notcoin’s now vacated “biggest crypto hit” spot are two pretenders to the free coins: Blum and Pixelverse.
Just like the sales pitch of Notcoin, these platforms claim to not only provide innovative ways to earn crypto but also foster a sense of community and engagement among users.
Blum.io has positioned itself as a user-friendly platform for earning crypto through Telegram. By connecting users with various tasks and bounty programs, Blum.io simplifies the process of earning digital assets.

VisitTo the experienced crypto bounty hunter though, this just means more bots and fly-by followers to fight over those free coins.

Cons of Pixelverse.xyz:
As the cryptocurrency space evolved, so did the methods of earning and engagement on Telegram. Early bounty programs laid the foundation for more sophisticated and interactive platforms like Blum.io and Pixelverse.xyz. These platforms have refined the concept of Telegram coin harvesting, offering structured and gamified experiences that appeal to a broader audience.
Telegram coin harvesting involves leveraging Telegram bots and channels to earn cryptocurrencies. Users participate in various activities, such as completing tasks, engaging in chats, or simply being active within communities. In return, they receive coins or tokens, which can later be traded or used within specific ecosystems.
Both Blum.io and Pixelverse.xyz have attracted a significant number of users due to their unique approaches to Telegram coin harvesting. Blum.io has amassed a user base of over 100,000 active participants, drawn by its user-friendly interface and diverse earning opportunities. Pixelverse.xyz, with its engaging gamified experience, boasts over 150,000 users who enjoy the interactive and potentially more rewarding environment.

On the other hand, if you enjoy gaming and want to experience a more interactive way to accumulate digital assets, Pixelverse.xyz could be the ideal choice.
But just as we said with Notcoin, there’s no viable utility we can see with these coins. They can ask you to tap differently, or ask you to do different tasks, to earn all these coins, but really, they’re just Notcoin in a different dress.
Still, if you want to dive in and learn more, or if the prospect of speculating on something similar to Notcoin interests you, then by all means, enjoy harvesting coins on Telegram!
